Any additional input will greatly be appreciated. The avionics people are Universal avionics, so that is the correct source for information, but they offer no more than what we have all, already read. I do not have access to that disk, as its owner, will not let it out of his possession (and rightly so, I suppose). Have a great day 1 person found this reply helpful. The same goes with your other 250mb disks, if they connect through USB then they should still work. When you plug in the drive, windows will automatically search for the best driver and install it for you. We do know, that the hardware and software on the airplane, do in fact work, as, The "magic old disk" was used to update the database a month or so ago. These Zip drives should still work as they connect through USB.

The airplane owner can afford it, but I am a computer guy who thinks that is absurd, and it presented a personal challenge, to resolve. While that is a good solution, Cessna is willing to do it for the "discounted price of $12,000.00, more or less". Also, Cessna does have a solution, but it involves changing the zip disk to a usb interface. I did check the drive (used theirs on my pc, and others in their device), with same results. My hope was there might be some "tribal knowledge" that was not documented in any of the public, commonly looked to, sources for information. I also have read all the public articles that were kindly pointed out to me, before posting here. This page contains the driver installation download for Iomega USB Zip 100 in supported models (PACKARD BELL 754) that are running a supported operating system. The package contains additional software. The package contains additional software needed for using and managing Iomega Zip drives (it is officially called IomegaWare). I appreciate the answers put forth, however, as Dave Baldwin has pointed out in the last response, it is not as simple as "you need a 100MB Zip disk formatted as FAT (Not FAT16 or 32) with no data on before copying the update file to it.". This driver package for Iomega Zip 100 drives will work on most versions of Windows, except 95 and NT (see above).
